Day 5 – Getting Links to Your Blog
Objective: To get links pointing to your site, using a few different link building strategies. Links help people find your content and improve your search engine ranking.

Go to these sites, type in your keyword, and see what other bloggers are talking about:
- www.technorati.com
- www.bloglines.com
- www.blogsearch.google.com
Find the trackback link somewhere in the post. While writing articles similar to the other blog’s content, in the “Trackbacks” section, enter the URL. This will instantly notify the other blogger’s software to insert a link to your blog in their comments section.
Of course the owner of the blog needs to approve it, but if your content is related (and original) chances are he / she will. As you do this you will have more links and traffic to your site.
You can also leave a comment on those blogs, putting your website URL in the correct place so others can click through to your blog. Write an article on your target market, referring again to your list of keywords. Make this a proper article with an introduction, 3 paragraphs of content, and a closing, all within 800 words.
At the bottom, put a short blurb about yourself and include the full like (http://) back to your blog.
Using the same article, create an account at ezinearticles.com and submit your article there as well.
Download this Directory Submitter and submit your blog to as many directories as possible. Some of the directories are paid ones and if the price is good you can pay for your links. The majority of them however would offer a free listing in return for a link back to their directory.
Go to Write > Page and create a page specifically for these links. As you submit, add the links to this page and your submissions are more likely to be approved.
